Fire in Wooldridge destroys much of town, damages Baptist church
WOOLDRIDGE – A raging wildfire on Saturday, Oct. 22, swept into this Cooper County village, nearly destroying the community and severely damaging the Baptist church building. Wooldridge is a community of approximately 40 residents. The fire started in a nearby grain field, which was ignited by a malfunctioning combine. Disaster Relief volunteers ‘rebuild’ homes affected by Hayti tornado
HAYTI HEIGHTS – On the evening of Dec. 12, 2021, a devastating EF4 tornado ripped through the small Bootheel town of Hayti Heights in southern Missouri’s Pemiscot County. The giant wedge tornado began its destruction in Jonesboro, Ark. and made its way more than 260 miles to western Kentucky.
