Texas church mourns deaths of 13 members in crash
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (BP) – Thirteen choir members from First Baptist Church died, March 29, in an automobile accident. The choir members, all between the ages of 61 and 87, were returning from an annual retreat at Alto Frio Baptist Encampment in Leakey, when the accident occurred on Highway 83 near Garner State Park in Concan. IMB appoints 29 new missionaries
RICHMOND, Va. (BP) – Twenty-nine Southern Baptists were appointed as missionaries to the nations during the International Mission Board's trustee meeting Feb. 28-March 1 near Richmond, Va. La. tornado destroys church, delays NOBTS chapel
NEW ORLEANS (BP) -- An EF-3 tornado that touched down in eastern New Orleans yesterday (Feb. 7) heavily damaged a Southern Baptist church's facility and briefly interrupted a chapel service at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
