KANSAS CITY (BP) – A website expected to hold the largest digitized collection on the internet of writings by famed British pastor Charles H. Spurgeon is now available. Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, in partnership with B&H Academic, launched the website on June 21. Missouri Baptist named Supreme Court chief justice
JEFFERSON CITY – For the third time in 20 years, a Southern Baptist will serve as chief justice of the Missouri Supreme Court. Judge Zel Fischer, 54, a member of First Baptist Church, Tarkio, became the new chief justice of the Missouri Supreme Court on July 1, succeeding former Chief Justice Patricia Breckenridge. BRANSON – Bonnie and Mark Carter of Moberly, have ministered to youth most of their 30 years of marriage. That includes the annual MB125 conference. Their work continues despite losing two special youth in a Feb. 21, 2008 car accident – their teenage daughters Kayla and Alicia. Understandably, that accident rocked them. Willow Springs pastor calls for orphan, widow Sunday
PHOENIX (BP) – Messengers to the Southern Baptist Convention proposed 11 motions during two 15-minute scheduled segments of the 2017 annual meeting in Phoenix. Messengers approved one motion, presented by James Forbis of First Baptist Church in Willow Springs, Mo., for referral to the SBC’s Executive Committee.
