Baptist Homes acquires three new campuses
JEFFERSON CITY – For the first time in its 108-year history, Baptist Homes will be acquiring three new campuses via acquisition. Following unanimous board approval in April, Baptist Homes & Healthcare Ministries is set to assume ownership of the Truman Gardens and Chateau in Independence, Missouri, as of July 1st. DR management, communication teams drill to prepare for unexpected disasters
JEFFERSON CITY – What started out as a project of the MBC Disaster Relief (DR) communications team to practice how they would deploy in a disaster situation, morphed into a full-scale disaster drill on a recent April weekend in Jefferson City. Missouri Disaster Relief volunteers bring help, hope to Louisiana
LAKE CHARLES, La. – Missouri Disaster Relief volunteers in early June brought help and hope to Louisiana residents faced with flood damage because of torrential rainfall in the area last month. It was reported that they had 20 inches of rainfall in two hours, which set new weather records. The Missouri DR team was doing mud out work and had completed jobs on two homes halfway through their week of work. The homes had nine rooms and many walls. Several personal items were damaged. Baptist Heritage scholarships awarded to three university students by Historical Commission
JACKSON – In their semi-annual meeting the Missouri Baptist Convention Historical Commission awarded three Baptist Heritage scholarships to students at three Missouri Baptist affiliated universities. The $2,000 scholarships are made in cooperation with Hannibal-LaGrange University, Southwest Baptist University and Missouri Baptist University. Ministry restores 20,000 lost photos in decade after devastating tornado
CARTHAGE – After an EF5 tornado carved a mile-wide path of destruction through the city of Joplin on May 22, 2011, Thad Beeler surveyed the damage in his parents’ home. The tornado uprooted three large trees, throwing them on top of the house. It flipped his parents’ car and wrapped it around a neighbor’s tree.
