Baptist State Fair Tent nets 54 decisions for Christ
SEDALIA – About 1,300 State Fair attenders looking for corn dogs, carnival rides and deals on snazzy merchandise stopped by the Missouri Baptist tent located near the fair’s midway. They had the opportunity to step inside the tent and register for a free 50-inch TV and blue ray entertainment unit. Well, it was almost free. SOUIX FALLS, S.D. – Two Missouri Baptists suffered minor injuries after a driver suspected to be under the influence hit their church van and a second car while they were in town for a mission trip. HAVANA, Cuba – Three family members with southern Missouri Baptist church ties joined a group distributing sports equipment and Bibles to Cuba for 13 days in early July. EVANSTON, Wyo. – Aspen Church here was the recipient of some Missouri Baptist love by way of First Baptist Church, Kirksville. The Kirksville church took 13 members on a 2,600 mile misson trip to the ranching community in the Uinta Mountains of western Wyoming in late July. CHICAGO – An 8-member mission team from Springhill Baptist Church, Springfield, carried the gospel to one of the nation’s most dangerous communities last month.
