Missouri county clerks refuse to issue same-sex ‘marriage’ licenses
A Missouri judge has ruled a state law limiting marriage to heterosexual couples unconstitutional, but most county clerks are refusing to fall in line. In a ruling Wednesday, Judge Rex Burlison ordered Missouri to begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples, saying that to define marriage as a union between one man and one woman is a violation of homosexuals’ constitutional rights. Missouri marriage definition ruled unconstitutional
A St. Louis Circuit Court Judge ruled Nov. 5 that Missouri's definition of marriage as being between a man and a woman is unconstitutional. "The Court finds and declares that any same sex couple that satisfies all the requirements for marriage under Missouri Law, other than being of different sexes, is legally entitled to a marriage license," wrote Judge Rex Burlison.
