HLGU Trustees hear update on construction
HANNIBAL – Trustees at Hannibal-LaGrange University (HLGU) here received an update on the construction of the school’s new science building during their fall meeting, Oct. 16-17. MBC wins Foundation again, Court orders it to pay MBC $5 million
JEFFERSON CITY – For the third time, before the third judge, the Missouri Baptist Foundation (MBF) has lost its effort to escape from Missouri Baptist Convention governance and accountability—and from a $5 million price-tag for its misconduct. And for the third time, the MBF is taking its loss to the court of appeals in Kansas City. On June 6, Cole County Circuit Judge Frank Conley entered judgment in favor of the MBC and against the MBF, and on Oct. 1, the judgment became “final.” … [Read more...]

Kids Alive Int’l president challenges SBU students to serve
BOLIVAR — Al Lackey, president of Kids Alive International, visited the Southwest Baptist University campus on Sept. 22. Kids Alive is a global ministry that serves at 67 sites in 18 countries with a focus of rescuing orphaned, abandoned and at-risk children. MBTS enrollment increases for fall semester
KANSAS CITY – Amidst the excitement of the start of a new academic year at Midwestern Seminary President Jason Allen announced the encouraging news on Sept. 22 that more students have enrolled at the school this Fall Semester than any other in school history. Enrollment up at SBU Bolivar campus
Classes started Monday, Aug. 25, at Southwest Baptist University with an increase in new students, average ACT score and number of students living in on-campus housing. Total enrollment on the first day of classes was 1,507, including 430 freshmen. The freshman class’s average ACT score of 23.6 is an increase from last year and nearly a one-point increase from two years ago.
