Classes started Monday, Aug. 25, at Southwest Baptist University with an increase in new students, average ACT score and number of students living in on-campus housing.
Total enrollment on the first day of classes was 1,507, including 430 freshmen. The freshman class’s average ACT score of 23.6 is an increase from last year and nearly a one-point increase from two years ago. Students living in on-campus housing increased by 30.
“We are very pleased with our enrollment and increase in the academic quality of our students this fall,” said SBU President C. Pat Taylor, Ed.D. “We have great momentum as the fall semester begins and are poised for a great year at Southwest Baptist University.”
