JEFFERSON CITY – More than 20 new Missouri pastors and Directors of Missions, as well as their wives, attended the Missouri Baptist Convention’s (MBC) New Pastors’ Retreat last month. The April 21-23 retreat, organized by the MBC’s Developing Leaders team, reminded the group of ministers that they’re not alone – that they can find help in ministry not only in their churches, but also in their state convention and regional association. “We’re very thankful that so many pastors, … [Read more...]
A great tool!
“Do not say, ‘Why were the former days better than these?’ For you do not inquire wisely concerning this. – Ecclesiastes 7:10 NKJV We all like good tools that will help us get our tasks accomplished. Some of the latest and best tools to be invented, in my opinion, include the computer, cell phone, and the technology that comes with them. However, just like any other tool, they must be used appropriately or they can cause harm. I don’t think there are very many people who would give a … [Read more...]
North Central Missouri College BSU connects Old, New Testaments through Passover Seder
TRENTON – A small town in Missouri might be the last place you’d expect to find a Passover plate of bitter herbs (maror), apples and nuts (charoset), and shank bone (zeroa) in celebration of Passover. And students from the local two-year college might be the ones you’d least expect to be holding those plates. But Campus Missionary Christina Boatright felt that a seder was exactly what the kids in her ministry needed this spring. “A seder gives a more accurate depiction of what Jesus’s … [Read more...]
