Half of pastors say the economy is hurting their church
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Individuals aren’t the only ones facing consequences of inflation and other negative economic factors in the U.S., as many pastors say their churches are being harmed as well. A Lifeway Research study of U.S. Protestant pastors found 52% say the current economy is having a negative impact on their churches. For 40%, the economic circumstances aren’t having any effect. The federal government recently moved to forgive some portion of collegiate student loans for qualified borrowers. Though this policy ought to be analyzed from an economic and political viewpoint, Christians would be wise to consider it from a biblical standpoint. Nearly 80 profess faith in Christ in Baptist Tent at Missouri State Fair
SEDALIA – Seventy-eight people prayed to receive Jesus at the Baptist Tent during the Missouri State Fair. The mid-August fair runs for ten days and Baptist volunteers were there every day asking people if they wanted to sign up for a gift card. The people agreed to listen to the volunteers for three minutes while they shared their story of how they met Jesus.
