Twenty people baptized at Bonne Terre church
BONNE TERRE – Rejoicing angels and the joyful congregation of Sonrise Baptist Church of Bonne Terre had reason to celebrate with 20 baptisms in one service. “We had several men in the congregation who wanted baptism,” Daniel Weyand, pastor, said, “as well as several children from the Wednesday night program.” One of the men wanting baptism was a surprise to the congregation. Missouri DR responds to New Mexico wildfires
RUIDOSO, N.M. – Sometimes people have a bad day and then sometimes they have a “really bad day.” For 207 homeowners in the mountains of southern New Mexico, it was a really bad day on April 12th. A windstorm blew in with 90 MPH winds and knocked down a power line. That in turn sparked a wildfire across the mountains full of dry timber. SBU’s Roy wins Baptist Heritage scholarship from Missouri Baptist Historical Commission
JEFFERSON CITY – Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) Historical Commissioners met at the Baptist Building on April 19th. They awarded the Baptist Heritage scholarship to Southwest Baptist University student Hannah Roy of Raymore. The scholarship is for $2,000 and is provided by funds from the Cooperative Program and matching monies from Southwest Baptist University. There were two honorable mention awards also. BUCHAREST, Romania – The Cristi and Michelle Harlea family serving here tripled their household recently by opening their home to Ukrainian refugees. “In our home, we have two (Ukrainian) families.
