Sight & Sound Theatre’s ‘Samson’ to bring down house in Branson
BRANSON – The best superheroes have some sort of flaw. It’s why Batman with his antisocial tendencies and emotional baggage makes for a more interesting story than squeaky clean Superman. That’s one reason why Matt Neff, the CEO of Sight & Sound Theatres, is so excited about the newest show coming to Branson, a story about a flawed biblical figure who could take on the Hulk in an arm wrestling match: Samson. “This is one of the most creatively challenging and fun stories we’ve gotten … [Read more...]

KANSAS CITY – Charles Spurgeon (1834-1892), the “prince of Baptist preachers,” died only a decade after Charles Darwin (1809-1882), who infamously proposed a way for explaining the origin of all species without any need for God. Though they lived in the same England at the same time, these men were poles apart in their views of creation and the origin of life on earth, according to Christian George, director of the Charles Spurgeon Center for Biblical Preaching at Midwestern Baptist … [Read more...]

Franklin Association brings healing to Ghana
YENDI, Ghana – The mission team from Franklin Baptist Association doesn’t do anything halfway. They didn’t bring a handful of people on their recent trip to Ghana; they took 53. They didn’t set up a clinic to deal with minor illness and maladies; they set up a permanent intensive care unit at a local hospital. Joe Nogalski, pastor of Memorial Baptist Church in New Haven, has been going on the trips regularly since he was a student at Southern Seminary in 2001. It began with a partnership … [Read more...]

Part of the law days are bringing felony probations (to programs) while … [Read more...]

KANSAS CITY – We all saw the college campus disruptions in recent years. Much of what we viewed conflicted with the biblical values we all hold dear. Many parents asked themselves if they wanted their college-bound students subjected to that kind of mockery and abuse. Are there alternatives to secular K-12 and college education? Millions of parents ask that question when considering a private elementary and secondary education. Millions more ask it when their high school Junior or Senior … [Read more...]
