The Rheubin L. South Missouri Missions Offering supports 18 ministries in Missouri. This year’s theme is taken from 1 Chronicles 29:14b: “Everything comes from You, and we have given You only what comes from Your hand.” Following are two short stories of how the gifts of Missouri Baptists support missions projects throughout the Show Me State. Walking Together Student missionaries and their mentors throughout Missouri are encouraging each other in their journey of faith. The collegiate … [Read more...]

Mo. Baptists prayer walk in St. Louis
ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptists in the St. Louis Metro Baptist Association went out to different communities in the St. Louis area to prayer walk and share the gospel, July 23. They were inspired by Luke 10:2, a call to ministry that applies to every member in the Body of Christ. Not everyone is called to preach, nor are we all called to go overseas. But every single member—from the oldest to the youngest, from the wealthiest to the poorest—can pray. Jesus Christ tells His disciples to do … [Read more...]

Baptist education a possibility in Missouri’s prisons
HANNIBAL – Education programs in prisons are usually aimed at giving someone a leg up once their time is served and they return to society at large to make a positive impact. A hard-earned associate’s or bachelor’s degree earned behind bars isn’t worth much if the inmate never gets released. But what if the goal is to use education to make a positive impact behind the prison walls? It’s an idea that intrigues Hannibal-LaGrange University President, Anthony Allen. Though such a program is … [Read more...]

God not only used people like him, God calls them by name. He accepted Christ and surrendered to the ministry “before even knowing what ‘the ministry’ was.” Hungry for more and desperate to better understand both the Scriptures and God’s call, he read … [Read more...]
