New US citizen says immigrants hungry for gospel
COLUMBIA – Regardless of the politics or legal arguments surrounding immigration, one thing is clear: they need Jesus. One of the United States’ newest citizens knows that first hand. Omar Segovia, the Missouri Baptist Convention’s ethnic church planting catalyst, was born in Chile, but immigrated with his family to Canada when he was six. He grew up there as a Canadian, but more importantly, he grew up around people who cared about his family and shared the gospel with them. They … [Read more...]

Making investments that are biblically responsible
Robert Netzly had a problem. He was a committed Christian and an active member of his local crisis pregnancy center advancing the Pro-life cause, but he was also a part owner in an abortion-providing business. How could he do that? Well, he didn’t really know. Maybe you don’t either. You see, Robert owned stock in companies that profited from abortions. No, he did not purchase stock in the local abortion clinic down the street nor did he individually purchase stock in a company that … [Read more...]

BEAUMONT, Texas – In its 69-year existence, East Gill Baptist Church here has survived four catastrophic events. But last August, when Hurricane Harvey ripped through the gulf coast, the church’s building met its match. The fellowship of Christian stewards
Steve Otte led the youth ministry in my home church, First Baptist, Kahoka. He volunteered his leadership to a group of teenagers to introduce them to faith in Jesus Christ and grow in their relationship with the Lord.
