They offer a low-cost learning hub for Muslim families in a low-income apartment block. Though it may appear to be “local folks” … [Read more...]

Pray for ‘freedom in Christ, freedom of religion’ in Iran

March 11, 2026 By Benjamin Hawkins

Missouri Baptist and Southern Baptist leaders alike have called for prayer amid rising conflicts in the Middle East. God has been moving in Iran for many years, and He is continuing to work for the salvation of men and women in the region. Last year, as tensions with Iran began to rise, I spoke with my friend Ayman Ibrahim, who serves as a professor of Islamic Studies at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Christianity is expanding in the region, he told me. “I know that … [Read more...]

With the present war involving Iran, the United States and surrounding countries, a closer look at the history of Christianity in Iran may help place these events in context and guide believers in how to pray for Christians living there. Throughout Iran’s history with Christianity, there has been sporadic discrimination against and persecution of believers. When outside forces threaten Iran, the relationship between Iranian Christians and the ruling government has often changed. Beginnings … [Read more...]

March 1, 2026 By Diana Chandler

KYIV, Ukraine (BP) – The priest led an Orthodox church with the Moscow Patriarchate. But when Russia invaded, soldiers stripped the priest naked, knocked out his teeth with the butt of a rifle, and paraded him through the streets, taunting “Where is your God now?” The priest is one of two leaders interviewed in a recent video by Colby Barrett, who, with the Ukraine Freedom Project, produces documentaries of Russia’s persecution of Christians. “He was a UOC-MP (Ukraine Orthodox Church … [Read more...]

‘Kingdom First, Second Strong’: A story of multigenerational mission work in Missouri

February 12, 2026 By IMB

by Chris Doyle/IMB A common desire among Southern Baptist churches is to incorporate unity among the congregation. In other words, they want to be multigenerational. Second Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri, has made “multigenerational” an emphasis in their pursuit of mission work, and the result has been a success. “It’s difficult to engage cross-generationally, but when you put believers of varying ages alongside each other with a common cause and a common love for Christ, … [Read more...]
