JEFFERSON CITY – The MBC has just released The Apologist’s Tool Kit 3rd Edition, a significantly revised and expanded version of the popular resource launched in 2013 and updated in 2014 to equip Missouri Baptists to defend the Christian faith.
The first two editions of the Tool Kit have been used in dozens of apologetics conferences across the state, as well as in church-wide and small-group studies. The 485-page 3rd Edition, written by the MBC’s Rob Phillips, addresses some of the most commonly challenged Christian doctrines today, from the existence of God to the authority of Scripture.
Major sections of the book include: Apologetics and World View; The Existence of God; The Bible; Jesus Christ; False Religions, Cults, and Christian Sects; and Other Apologetics Topics.
Each of the 69 chapters concludes with probing questions, talking points, and references for further reading, making this a handy resource for personal or group study.
“Followers of Jesus always have faced attacks from outside the church – from worshipers in the cult of Caesar to militant Muslims,” said Phillips. “But potentially more damaging are threats from within – from false teachers who tickle our ears to false prophets who come to us with cleverly devised myths.”
The Apologist’s Tool Kit 3rd Edition is designed to equip followers of Christ to defend their faith with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:16).
The English term “apologetics” comes from the Greek apologia, meaning “defense.” Christian apologetics is a reasoned defense of the Christian faith.
