September 23, 2019 By Mitch Shiffer

BUCYRUS – The people at New Beginnings Baptist Church here can tell you a little bit about miracles. Then, guided by Associational Missionary Paul Posey, they were replanted in 2014 as New Beginnings Baptist Church. “After much prayer, we determined that God wasn’t finished with our little family and we began a process of … [Read more...]

March 12, 2019 By Mitch Shiffer

MARTIN CITY – Off the main strip, and down the road in Martin City, one finds Three Trails Community. But don’t call it a church—not a church. It’s a congregation. Three Trails, which currently meets in the Martin City Baptist building, purposely left off the word “church” to identify with the people they reach— namely, Martin City.  “Three Trails Community. No church,” says lead pastor Blake Fortner. “Everyone wants to add church,” Fortner adds with a head-bobbing laugh. Fortner has been … [Read more...]

Cultivating wisdom in a post-Christian culture

Harrison Lang

As American Christians in the 21st century, we have already fought many battles over political and cultural issues in the first quarter of this century. These battles have borne real fruit for the cause of Christ and the common good—whether the overturning of Roe v. Wade or the ongoing protection of religious liberty. Contrary to the doom some people have predicted, our nation has seen significant progress. That said, Christians must still engage the public square with confidence and discernment in Christ.
