Transform: Registration now open for Great Commission Conference

October 13, 2016 By The Pathway

JEFFERSON CITY – “Transform” is the theme of the 2017 Great Commission Conference, formerly known as the MBC Evangelism Conference.

Building on the Missouri Baptist Convention’s vision of “Transforming lives and communities with the gospel,” the Great Commission Conference incorporates biblical preaching and teaching, corporate worship, training, relationship-building, and a celebration of God’s work among us to make disciples, multiply churches, and develop leaders, according to Matt Kearns, MBC catalyst for Making Disciples.

Registration is now open for the event, scheduled for Feb. 23-25 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Springfield. Go online to mobaptist.org/gcc for more information and to register. Additional details about speakers, sessions, and breakouts are coming in the weeks ahead.

The Great Commission Conference is designed to be a three-day, multi-generational event for pastors, church staff leaders, students, campus missionaries, and anyone else seeking encouragement and equipping for missional living.

The conference is funded through the faithful giving of Missouri Baptists through the Cooperative Program.

Cultivating wisdom in a post-Christian culture

Harrison Lang

As American Christians in the 21st century, we have already fought many battles over political and cultural issues in the first quarter of this century. These battles have borne real fruit for the cause of Christ and the common good—whether the overturning of Roe v. Wade or the ongoing protection of religious liberty. Contrary to the doom some people have predicted, our nation has seen significant progress. That said, Christians must still engage the public square with confidence and discernment in Christ.
