Committee on Convention Committees announced

Ministers and lay people have been appointed to serve on the 2004 Missouri Baptist Convention Committee on Convention Committees by MBC president David Tolliver – one member  from each of Missouri’s eight regions.

Dr. Mark Inman, pastor of First Baptist Church in Portageville (Southeast Region), was named chairman of the committee.  Other ministers serving on the committee are:  Kirk Baker, Lawson Baptist Church (West Central Region); Scott Carlson, First Baptist Church, Macon (Northeast Region); Gary Mathis, Green Valley Baptist Church, St. Joseph (Northwest Region); and John Parker, First Baptist Church, Dixon (South Central Region).

Lay people serving on the committee are Chris Brandt, Boonville (Central Region); Steve Reese, Joplin (Southwest Region); and Richard Stone, Winfield (East Central Region).

The Committee on Convention Committees is responsible for nominating members to the following MBC standing committees: Committee on Convention Preacher –  to serve and report in 2004; two members each for Committee on Order of Business and Committee on Continuing Review, terms expiring 2007 – to begin serving after the 2004 convention; Committee on Resolutions and Committee on Enrollment – to serve in 2005; Committee on Local Arrangements – to serve in 2006 in Cape Girardeau.
