Experiencing God Conference to be hosted by Mid-Missouri Association

February 3, 2015 By The Pathway

COLUMBIA – Parkade Baptist Church here will host an Experiencing God Retreat, Feb. 20-21, sponsored by the Mid-Missouri Baptist Association (formerly, the Little Bonne Femme Association) and the Missouri Baptist Convention.

The retreat features Claude King, discipleship specialist from LifeWay Christian Resources, who joined Henry Blackaby 25 years ago to write and publish the classic discipleship study, Experiencing God. Since its publication in 1990, Experiencing God has sold more than 7 million copies. The discipleship study has also been translated into more than 45 languages.

During an evening bonus session, Feb. 20, participants at the Experiencing God Retreat will hear the testimonies of Missourians who have been impacted by Experiencing God. A documentary about Experiencing God, produced by LifeWay in 2013, will also show how the discipleship study has changed lives around the world.

Although this bonus session is open to the public for free, general costs for the retreat are $15 for an individual and $35 for a family. Costs include lunch and materials provided at the event. To learn more about the retreat, visit www.mobaptist.org/discipleship/experiencing-god-retreat.

Cultivating wisdom in a post-Christian culture

Harrison Lang

As American Christians in the 21st century, we have already fought many battles over political and cultural issues in the first quarter of this century. These battles have borne real fruit for the cause of Christ and the common good—whether the overturning of Roe v. Wade or the ongoing protection of religious liberty. Contrary to the doom some people have predicted, our nation has seen significant progress. That said, Christians must still engage the public square with confidence and discernment in Christ.
