New year kicks off with CP ad campaign

December 23, 2012 By The Pathway

JEFFERSON CITY — The Cooperative Program (CP) will be featured prominently in the 2013 issues of The Pathway with 12 full-page ads.

Rob Phillips, Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) communications team leader, said the theme of the advertising campaign will be “Because you give …” The concept came out of a recent CP survey in which respondents said they prefer CP information in The Pathway above other forums. They also want to know more about where CP funds go as well as wanting stories about how CP fuels missions.

“We believe full-page ads will have a greater visual impact,” Phillips said. “They will enable us to carry out a comprehensive promotional campaign tied to the ads, including feature stories, social media, videos, and other communications tools.”

Starting early next year, the ads will run along with information about a new online CP video and the following support elements:

• A “CP Missions Moment” video that is one minute in length and features a CP beneficiary sharing his/her story;

• A 500-word feature story for The Pathway and the web;

• Social media promotion;

• A featured spot in that week’s mbConnect e-newsletter.

In addition, some months will include bulletin inserts and Powerpoint slides. There also may be a number of CP worship countdown videos.

People are needed as the subjects of these ads, stories, and videos. If a member of an MBC ministry team, church planter, transitional pastor, summer missionary, or anyone else you know has a good story to tell about how CP has changed his or her life, contact Phillips by Dec. 15. If a story is accepted, the person will receive a CP travel mug as a token of appreciation.
