Franklin County Association women’s event glorifies God

October 4, 2005

UNION – The Women’s Ministry Team of the Franklin County Baptist Association sponsored a “Table Talk” event Aug. 13 for 250 women who enjoyed a catered meal and fellowship at the associational headquarters.

Table captains decorated with a wide variety of themes ranging from elegant to sports. The 35 tables were judged in five categories—holiday, special occasion, elegant, outdoor and themed ideas. Prizes were awarded to the winning tables at the end of the evening.

Bernie Parquette, founder of Psalm 98 Ministries in Branson, sang and testified to the glory of God. Parquette has endured many hardships and is determined to persevere. She and her husband, Tom, travel throughout America to minister in settings like the one in Union.

Guest speaker Paula Strauser told of her many years serving as a missionary in a public school classroom. She shared how our plans and dreams for our lives may not go exactly as we envision, but that the journey out of the valleys is what makes us strong.

Door prizes were donated by area churches and businesses.

Members of the Women’s Ministry Committee are: Kristi Neace; Tina Whitley; Ann Wideman; Janice Sitzes; Loretta Terrio; and Sherry Wideman.
