2016 giving shows little change
JEFFERSON CITY – Missouri Baptist giving through the Cooperative Program (CP) and various missions offerings showed only a slight change in 2016, according to final statistics reported earlier this month by the Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC). In 2016, Missouri Baptists gave $14,522,278.12 to MBC ministries through the Cooperative Program, falling shy of the 2016 goal of $14,828,008.00 by only 2.06 percent. SPRINGFIELD – Volunteers from Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief (DR) will provide childcare during the Great Commission Conference here, Jan. 23-25. Space is limited to 40 children, and registration is required. There is no deadline, but registration will close after 40 kids sign up. Board approves CP allocations
JEFFERSON CITY – The Executive Board of the Missouri Baptist Convention has approved Cooperative Program allocations for a three-year period, based on the recommendation of a CP Allocations Task Force appointed earlier this year by former MBC President Neil Franks. Beginning in 2018, the MBC allocates a simple 40 percent to the Southern Baptist Convention and 60 percent to the MBC and its ministries. JEFFERSON CITY – With a nearly unanimous vote, the Missouri Baptist Convention’s (MBC) Executive Board voted during their Dec. 12-13 meeting here to recommend that the convention temporarily halt its march toward a “50-50” Cooperative Program allocation.
