New MBC youth choir to embark on statewide tour
JEFFERSON CITY – The voices of young Missouri Baptists will be ringing in worship all throughout the state in August.
The Missouri Baptist Youth Choir, directed by the Missouri Baptist Convention’s (MBC) worship specialist, John Francis, embark on a week-long tour beginning at the Baptist Building in Jefferson City Aug. 1 and ending on the campus of Hannibal LaGrange College Aug. 6.
This 30-member choir, with bass/piano duo Ted and Sheree Yoder, along with Michael Stewart, guitar, will be performing selections from the musical “Amazing God” by Dennis and Nan Allen. During the performances, the congregation will also be treated to video display – creating a “multi-sensory worship event.”
“The youth have been so wonderful to work with in rehearsal; they’re dedicated, intuitive and spiritual – I love them,” Francis said. “These are our future worship leaders. I want them to see that they can do it, and do it well – bringing glory due our Lord.”
Zac Hufty, youth pastor at First Baptist Church in Troy, Kevin Stewart of First Baptist Church in Lamar and fellow MBC Staffer Tanya McMillan will help lead the tour.
