COLUMBIA – Pathway Editor and Director of Public Policy for the Missouri Baptist Convention Don Hinkle will be among the speakers at Saturday’s Defund Planned Parenthood Rally set for 10 a.m., here at the Planned Parenthood facility at 711 N. Providence Rd. Also speaking will be other pro-life leaders from government and the local community.
The rally is one of five statewide – and more than 300 locations nationally – being held simultaneously to protest and raise awareness of abortion and the sale of aborted baby body parts, a scandal that has erupted in recent weeks due to the undercover videos released by the Center for Medical Progress. Saturday’s events are believed to be the largest demonstration against Planned Parenthood in its 99-year history.
“We do not want to just defund Planned Parenthood,” Hinkle said, “we want to put them out of business. It ought to shake our consciences and break our hearts, causing us to cry out to God when we see Planned Parenthood technicians scavenging through body parts of aborted babies. This adds a whole new grotesque and ghoulish layer to the already highly controversial practice of abortion in our nation.
“It is bad enough,” Hinkle continued, “that Planned Parenthood is profiting from abortions, but also that they are exploiting the bodies of their victims for money. Our government leaders must act decisively and do it now.”
