NASHVILLE – The Name Change Task Force of the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist has released its reccomendation: “Great Commission Baptists.”
Pending action by messengers at the annual meeting of the Convention this June, the name of the Southern Baptist Convention would not legally change, but “Great Commission Baptists” would be used an informal identifier for marketing purposes, according to Jimmy Draper, chairman of the task force.
