Greenville cites Gray for 50 years in ministry

Greenville – The Greenville Baptist Church honored their interim pastor, Kenneth Gray, in the Oct. 6 morning service, recognizing 50 years in the ministry. They gave him a plaque that displayed praying hands and the scripture II Timothy 4:2-5: “Preach the Word. Do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.” A monetary gift was also included.

FBC Ellisville set for 50th anniversary

ELLISVILLE – First Baptist Church here will celebrate its 50th anniversary Nov. 7-8 with singing, a fellowship reception and a special worship service. The theme for the two-day observance is “To God Be The Glory … Great Things He Hath Done” based on 1 Peter 4:11.

The celebration will begin Nov. 7 at 5:30 p.m., with a choir reunion/rehearsal in the auditorium led by former Minister of Music Ken Ragsdale and assisted by current Minister of Music Tom Wideman. The rehearsal will be followed by a light snack dinner hosted by current adult choir members. At 7 p.m., there will be a cake and punch reception in the fellowship hall, featuring power point presentations of photos through the years

A special worship service is set for Nov. 8 at 10 a.m. There will be no Sunday School. Special music for the worship service will feature soloists, the “Reunion Choir,” a video highlighting the history of the church with greetings from former ministers, spotlighting ministries past and present. Senior Pastor Charles Murray will be the featured speaker. The worship service will be followed by a boxed lunch for all in attendance.

Christian Activity Center sets 30K Relay, 5K Walk

ST. LOUIS – Christian Activity Center’s (CAC) 30K Relay and 5K Walk will be held Nov. 7, 7-11 a.m., at Forest Park, St. Louis. Both events support CAC, an after-school ministry for kids grades K-12. U.S. Supreme Court hears cases of transgender athletes

The U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments Tuesday (Jan.13) in two cases regarding state laws seeking to clarify competition in sports according to biological sex. Both cases (West Virginia v. B.P.J. and Little v. Hecox) involve biological males challenging state laws which barred them from competing on female sports teams.

Widow recounts God’s faithfulness following husband’s death during mission trip in Mexico

While on a mission trip in San Felipe Usila in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico, in September 2024, a member of First Baptist Church, Camdenton, Mike Luttrell, suffered a cardiac arrest and died while walking down a street in the village. His wife, Connie, was with him and she recently provided a narrative to The Pathway about the incident and how God was so faithful to her and the mission volunteers as they went through the traumatic incident and made arrangements to return to the United States.
