HANNIBAL – Hannibal-LaGrange University (HLGU) has announced a new $10,000 Regional High School Scholarship. This scholarship is available to current high school and homeschool seniors. To be eligible, the student must live within the geographic region of or attend one of the following Missouri schools: Bowling Green, Canton, Hannibal, Hannibal Christian Academy, Highland, Marion County, Mark Twain, Monroe City, or Palmyra. Eligible schools in Illinois include: Payson, Quincy, Quincy Notre Dame, Quincy Christian, or Western. Additional eligibility qualifications include: a minimum 3.0 CGPA and a minimum ACT score of 21. Scholarships awarded are limited to 50 per year and are renewable for four years based on an earned 2.5 CGPA. Residential students are eligible for a $10,000 scholarship annually while commuter students are eligible for a $6,500 annual scholarship. The HLGU Regional High School Scholarship may not be combined with any other institutional scholarship.
The deadline to apply for the HLGU Regional High School Scholarship is May 1, 2012. Students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
Ray Carty, vice president for enrollment management at HLGU said “the reason for the Regional Scholarship is to reach out to the area families and students and offer an incentive to stay local for their education.”
