Sports equipment is vessel for mission trip to Cuba
HAVANA, Cuba – Three family members with southern Missouri Baptist church ties joined a group distributing sports equipment and Bibles to Cuba for 13 days in early July. Paul Dudley, a deacon from Hillcrest Baptist, Lebanon, and his sons Caleb, 25, and Cory, 16, connected with a Texas ministry’s “Cuba for Christ” effort. EVANSTON, Wyo. – Aspen Church here was the recipient of some Missouri Baptist love by way of First Baptist Church, Kirksville. The Kirksville church took 13 members on a 2,600 mile misson trip to the ranching community in the Uinta Mountains of western Wyoming in late July. CHICAGO – An 8-member mission team from Springhill Baptist Church, Springfield, carried the gospel to one of the nation’s most dangerous communities last month. I sat next to a young church planter, Joel St-Cyr. Earlier in the conversation, he told how God was moving in such a fashion that the one-year-old church plant was often experiencing 200 in worship attendance in Montreal, the most unreached city in North America.
