MODR brings help, hope, healing after tornado hits Northeast Missouri town
BARING – A tornado may have moved in an unusual path on the night of Aug. 4 and heavily damaged this town of 125 people, but Missouri Disaster Relief moved in a typical way. Many times, a tornado moves toward the east or northeast. This tornado, with estimated maximum winds of 122 miles per hour moved to the northwest. OZARK – “What would VBS look like for participants in their 80s, 90s, and 100s?” That’s a question Baptist Home leaders in Ozark had to answer before offering Vacation Bible School to their residents on June 19-23. JEFFERSON CITY – Baptist Homes & Healthcare Ministries recently announced that they have been approved for a $600,000 Challenge Grant from the Mabee Foundation. This challenge grant has been issued as a part of the Baptist Homes $18,000,000.00 Welcome Home Capital Campaign. Freshwater takes ‘family mission trip’ to Montana
BILLINGS, Mont. – For Freshwater Church in Jefferson City, mission trips are a family affair. The congregation took 32 people – representing families with ages ranging from 4 to 65 – on a mission trip to partner with three churches in Montana. Independence church becomes smaller, leaner, more effective
INDEPENDENCE (BP) – Ten years ago Brian Grout accepted a call to be the pastor for what would soon become The Church at Three Trails. Approximately 200 people were on the membership role. That number has dropped by half since then. On the surface it can appear to be a negative, but the surface hardly tells the whole story.
