Trustees: MBTS academic expansion ready
KANSAS CITY (BP) – Implementation of expanded academic offerings at both the college and seminary levels at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MBTS) was announced during the April 29 trustee meeting at the Kansas City campus. BOLIVAR – With 497 graduates, Southwest Baptist University’s (SBU) May 2013 graduating class was the largest in the university’s 135-year history. The commencement ceremony also included the annual presentation of three prestigious awards: two Life Beautiful Awards and Orien B. Hendrex Distinguished Teacher Award. SBU sets budget goal of $53.8 million
BOLIVAR – The trend of record-setting budgets at Southwest Baptist University (SBU) is continuing with the May 7 establishment of a $53.7 million goal by trustees for the 2013-2014 academic year. SBU President C. Pat Taylor in 17 years has seen a dramatic increase in costs starting from an original budget of around $22 million to last year’s $51.2 million goal. BRIDGETON – Trustees appealed for help to send children to camp and received a clean audit report at their April 23 board meeting of the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home (MBCH) at their main campus here. BOLIVAR — Through the Southwest Baptist University (SBU) Center for Global Connections, students are ministering to multiple people groups around the world, but they can’t do it without financial support from a multitude of donors. With about 350 students having participated on 28 teams in 2012, students raised more than $550,000 to fund those trips. HLGU’s 2013-14 budget rises
HANNIBAL – Hannibal-LaGrange University (HLGU) trustees voted to change their meeting structure, adopted a revised HLGU mission statement and approved a $21.9 million budget during their meeting March 18-19. JEFFERSON CITY - The Executive Board of the Missouri Baptist Convention has voted to appeal a Camden County judge’s decision April 3 granting summary judgment in favor of Windermere Baptist Conference and other defendants.
