The Missouri Baptist Convention has purchased from a third party approximately 970 acres of land formerly part of the MBC’s Windermere Baptist Conference Center (WBCC). The Executive Board’s redemption of 75 percent of the camp’s original 1,300 acres follows a recommendation by a Board-appointed study group. Judge orders Foundation to pay MBC $5.5 million

Circuit Court Senior Judge Frank Conley has ruled that the Missouri Baptist Foundation must pay the Missouri Baptist Convention roughly $5.5 million in legal fees and costs that the MBC has incurred seeking to restore the Foundation after its board voted in 2001 to become self-perpetuating. Windermere Case Closed

The Missouri Supreme Court on Tuesday denied the Missouri Baptist Convention’s bid for a jury trial to determine the legal ownership of Windermere Baptist Conference Center. The court’s ruling ended the MBC’s legal efforts to regain WBCC after its board of trustees voted to become self-perpetuating in 2001. HANNIBAL – Cristian Harlea graduates from Hannibal-LaGrange University (HLGU) in May and hopes, one day, to return to his homeland, Romania, as a missionary. His heart is already there. Born while Romania was under Soviet rule, Harlea was saved at the age of 14 and attended a Baptist church with his family. Hannibal-LaGrange University (HLGU) announced, Feb. 6, the resolution of its federal lawsuit against the Department of Education. This landmark settlement protects the constitutional right of Baptists to establish and maintain schools that reflect their faith, doctrine and values, without being forced to abandon their commitments to provide affordable education.
