Missouri Baptist University celebrates 53rd commencement

More than 700 degrees were conferred to the class of 2025 at Missouri Baptist University’s 53rd commencement ceremony on May 6 at the Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri. The degrees conferred included 363 undergraduate degrees, 243 graduate degrees and 20 doctoral degrees, including degrees that will be completed in summer 2025.

HLGU’s ‘Freedom on the Inside’ celebrates first class of graduates inside Missouri prison

Hannibal-LaGrange University's Freedom on the Inside Program, which takes Christian education into Missouri's maximum security prison in Jefferson City, celebrated its first graduating class of 11 students, May 15. The students completed their bachelor of science degrees in biblical studies and are now active in sharing the light of Christ with other men in the state's prison system.

R.A. Congress brings faith, fun to grade-school boys

Boys in grades 1-6, along with leaders and volunteers, came from Missouri Baptist churches across the state and gathered at the Missouri State Fairgrounds for a fun-filled R.A. Congress, which showcased activities boys love along with showing them how to live on mission with God.

Missouri Baptist University breaks ground for Pillsbury Wainwright Academic & Welcome Center

Missouri Baptist University held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new academic building and welcome center on April 23, 2025. The University announced the new facility will be named the Pillsbury Wainwright Academic and Welcome Center after the generous support of Mary Pillsbury-Wainwright, president of the Mary Pillsbury Fine Jewelry Company, and her husband, Don Wainwright.

HLGU’s Freedom on the Inside program to celebrate first class of graduates

Hannibal-LaGrange University’s (HLGU) President and trustees, along with the Director of the Freedom on the Inside program, are pleased to announce the program's first ever graduation ceremony. This unique program allows incarcerated individuals to earn a fully accredited Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies. The graduation ceremony will be held on May 15 in the Jefferson City Correctional Center.

HLGU asks U.S. Department of Education for protection from unconstitutional mandate 

Hannibal-LaGrange University (HLGU), affiliated with the Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) since 1857, has formally requested a religious accommodation from the U.S. Department of Education from a Biden-era regulation, 34 CFR §668.14. Without timely action by the Department, the university intends to file a lawsuit seeking relief to safeguard its religious freedoms.
