Anyone who knows MODR volunteer Toby Tucker already knows that the Distinguished Service Award he received from Southern Baptist Disaster Relief and Send Relief was well deserved. Presented in recognition of exceptional service during a disaster and based on the most recent year of responses, the Distinguished Service Award is like an All-Star award for volunteers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty during an actual response or series of responses during the most recent year. 

Kansas City’s Northland Church reproduces disciples through church planting

Matt Marrs says he would rather be a pastor of a smaller church that has planted 20 churches than to be pastor of a church with 2,000 members. Northland Church, where Marrs serves, has sent out 10 church plants and church planters in the past two decades.

Ventriloquism opens doors to ministry for associate pastor at Faith Baptist Church, Festus

Smiles turned to laughter as Doug Mickan, associate pastor of worship and music at Faith Baptist Church in Festus, introduced his friends.  Mickan was at Parkway Baptist Church in St. Louis for an Operation Christmas Child event. His friends live in a trunk and depend on him for a voice.

MBC board sets CP goal, takes action on task force report on office of pastor

Missouri Baptist Convention executive board members meeting in Jefferson City, Mo., March 2-3, approved 2027 goals for Cooperative Program giving and other statewide and national offerings. They also acted on an MBC Credentials Committee Task Force report on the office of the pastor that was approved by MBC messengers last fall.
