SIKESTON, Mo. – “Carnival food” brings to mind corndogs and funnel cakes, but for the traveling workers of the Sikeston American Legion Cotton Carnival, who visit Sikeston each year, it means a hot homecooked meal thanks to First Baptist Church, here. Strasburg Baptist majors on children, families
STRASBURG – The population of the town of Strasburg is 107, according to the last census. There are a lot of small towns in Missouri that are similar size. But the Strasburg Baptist Church has more people attending on a given Sunday than the population of the town. SIKESTON – Old Bethel Baptist Church (OBBC) here stepped up, Aug. 24, to show love for the community, offering a number of free services. Pastor Brent Horton said 460 people from the area attended the event, where 130 church members reached out to welcome them. During the hours of the community service event, the church offered 40 oil changes and more than 60 haircuts, which were offered at no charge.
