Raising grateful children

"As Thanksgiving is arriving, let us rethink some of the things we are doing with our children to help them be grateful, not ungrateful!"

Kids can learn through play

If we stay alert, there is much that can be learned through play.  In fact, learning through play is one of the most effective ways to teach.

Confused Children

Although it has never been easy to raise children, it seems that there are some really tough challenges now that we have never before had.  It is nice to know, however, that we always have the help we need simply by turning to Christ.  There is a great deal of security in knowing that God’s instructions never change.  He is the same yesterday, today, and forever!

‘Where does the time go?’

Do we need to examine our priorities to make sure we are accomplishing what God wants us to accomplish with our children?

Using time wisely

When summer comes, we suddenly find ourselves with extra people at home!  That is often a time when squabbles start taking place, and children begin to get on the nerves of each other!  If we can keep them busy, there is much less time for arguing, and in addition, children can learn much about taking care of the home and about our Lord.

Kids have problems, too!

In this world of rushing here and there, it is easy to forget that children have problems just as we adults do.

Stubborn or determined?

Good leaders must have determination. If we completely get that out of the lives of our children, we may be spoiling something that God can use for His benefit when they grow up.

Fun, more fun, most fun!

It isn’t a matter of what is the most fun!  Rather, it is a matter of how we can help our children and others find the best place to spend eternity!

Who’s the boss?

Many times when I have done book signings, a dad will pick up a book, look at it and put it down.  When I mention that the books are helpful for family devotions, most often I have gotten the response, “My wife usually makes those kind of decisions”.  The Scripture cited above makes it clear that God intended for the dad to be the head of the home and make decisions about the Spiritual teachings of the family.
