MBTS introduces free local church theological training through FTC Institute

Midwestern Seminary’s Spanish Studies Department grows, reorganizes staff

KANSAS CITY – Citing significantly increased program growth, Midwestern Seminary’s Spanish Studies Department announced on Aug. 5 a reorganization of the staff and the addition of new faculty members. Midwestern Seminary expands summer live-video classes; offers new four-week online format

KANSAS CITY – Following the recent announcement that all summer classes will be offered in a synchronous technology format, Midwestern Seminary has expanded its total number of course offerings and added a new format of four-week long online classes. Midwestern Seminary offers online format for summer classes; cancels public graduation ceremony

Center for Biblical Counseling to open at MBTS

Former Midwestern President Milton Ferguson dies at 89

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (BP) -- Milton Ferguson, 89, the second president of Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, died today (Dec. 21) in Kansas City, Mo., after a brief battle with cancer. Ferguson's tenure as president at Midwestern Seminary began in February 1973, and he served the seminary community in this role before retiring in 1995 at the age of 67. Supreme Court ruling removes gag on Colorado Christian counselor, raises questions about Kansas City-area restrictions

In a sweeping First Amendment decision issued March 31, the United States Supreme Court removed a virtual gag on free speech which the state of Colorado had imposed on Christian counselors when talking to minors about their sexuality. The Chiles decision has immediate implications beyond Colorado—including within the state of Missouri.
