MBCollegiate Conference set for Feb. 7-8

COLUMBIA – MBCollegiate, the Missouri Baptist Convention’s (MBC) ministry to college students and young adults, is hosting a conference at Parkade Baptist Church here, Feb. 7-8, 2025. MBF assets grew by $16.5 million in 2024

JEFFERSON CITY (MBF) – Missouri Baptist Foundation (MBF) trustees met in Jefferson City, Dec. 13 for its triannual board meeting. The board heard reports from its portfolio manager, one of its investment managers, its auditors, and Missouri Baptist Convention officers. Ministry Wives Network launches 2025 teaching cohort, webinars

JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Baptist Convention’s Ministry Wives Network (MWN) this year is launching a teaching cohort, as well as webinars that will discuss topics requested by ministry wives. The 2025 teaching cohort will take place online on Feb. 4, 11, and 18, and it will end with an in-person meeting on Feb. 28. MBC’s Bennett to join Silver Dollar City as chaplain

JEFFERSON CITY – Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) Director of Making Disciples Brad Bennett will be leaving the MBC staff at the end of the year to pursue another ministry venture in Branson. According to an Oct. 7 memo to MBC staff, Bennett will become, in January 2025, the chaplain for Silver Dollar City, White Water, Branson Showboat Belle, and the Silver Dollar City Campground. MBC messengers share thoughts on the CP

ST. CHARLES – Messengers to the MBC Annual Meeting in St. Charles, Oct. 28-29, shared their thoughts on the Cooperative Program by taking part in a short survey. The results reveal their knowledge of CP and their preferred usage of CP materials provided by the MBC missionary staff. ST. CHARLES – Missouri Baptists kicked off a year-long celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Cooperative Program (CP) at the MBC Annual Meeting Oct. 28-29 in St. Charles. by IMB/NAMB staff members Generosity among Southern Baptists remains strong as evidenced by the most recent Annie Armstrong Easter Offering® and Lottie Moon Christmas Offering® totals. Soondrum named executive director of Baptist Homes’ campus in Vandalia

VANDALIA (BHHM) –  The Baptist Homes & Healthcare Ministries (BHHM) Tri-county campus in Vandalia has announced the hiring of Jesse Soondrum as campus executive director/administrator. Soondrum comes to Baptist Homes Tri-County with a long history in long term care. He began his work in long term care as a housekeeper while working on his master’s degree in clinical psychology. Cultivating wisdom in a post-Christian culture

As American Christians in the 21st century, we have already fought many battles over political and cultural issues in the first quarter of this century. These battles have borne real fruit for the cause of Christ and the common good—whether the overturning of Roe v. Wade or the ongoing protection of religious liberty. Contrary to the doom some people have predicted, our nation has seen significant progress. That said, Christians must still engage the public square with confidence and discernment in Christ.
