MBC sued by SBU’s opponents
BOLIVAR – The Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) was named as a defendant along with Southwest Baptist University (SBU) in a lawsuit that was filed on Aug. 25 in Polk County, Mo., Circuit Court, in a pending case involving court approval of SBU’s amended articles of incorporation. MBF sees $58 million growth in assets
JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Baptist Foundation (MBF) has seen a $58 million growth in assets under management during the past four years, MBF trustees learned during their Aug. 13 meeting at the Baptist building here. This growth, from $127 million just four years ago to $185 million now, reflects a mixture of investment returns, new clients and existing clients entrusting more resources with the Foundation. MBU board hears enrollment report, approves faculty

Missouri’s oldest associational leader dies at 95
BUFFALO, Mo. (BP) – Russell Adams, associational missions strategist for the Dallas County Association of Southern Baptists died, Aug. 21. He was 95, and until earlier this month, he was still serving in his role leading the association. The association has 13 churches, many of them small. Adams helped Elkland Baptist Church with a Wednesday evening Bible study.
