Missouri Baptist Executive Board sets 2026 spending plan

Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) Executive Board members meeting here, Aug. 25-26, approved the convention’s 2026 CP budget and approved changes to the rules and procedures for the MBC’s Credentials and Nominating Committees.

Resolutions for MBC annual meeting due on Aug. 28

Resolutions for this year’s MBC Annual Meeting must be submitted in writing to the Committee on Resolutions at least sixty (60) days prior to the first session of the annual meeting, which means the deadline of Aug. 28 is fast approaching.

MMO supports Mo. Baptist Children’s Home, Redemption Ranch, VBS regional training

In Kelsey’s first month of service at the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home (MBCH), she met a client who shared a story of relapse, shame, and regret. Kelsey shared Jesus at the Holy Spirit’s prompting. Through the power of the gospel, the client faced reality and took responsibility for her situation. The work of the MBCH is among more than two dozen ministries supported by the Missouri Missions Offering (MMO). The MMO Eight Days of Prayer are Sept. 7-14.

‘Let Them See Jesus’: Alistair Begg among featured speakers at MBC annual meeting

Messengers representing churches affiliated with the Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) are gathering Oct. 27-28 at the Branson Hilton Convention Center for their 191st annual meeting. Alistair Begg, Bible teacher on Truth for Life, is the keynote speaker Tuesday morning (Oct. 28), while Ken Whitten, national director of pastoral leadership at the North American Mission Board, closes out the annual meeting with a message Tuesday afternoon.

ACP helps Missouri Baptist churches

Last month, each Missouri Baptist church or mission began receiving an important package from the MBC, along with a simple request: Please complete the Annual Church Profile (ACP). What is the ACP? And why is it important? The ACP is a statistical survey that tracks trends in baptisms, church membership, worship attendance, and other local-church activities. Packets were mailed to every church or association in early June. Surveys should be completed as soon as possible, and no later than Jan. 31, 2026.

New book celebrates Cooperative Program’s 100th anniversary in state

The MBC has just released a new book, “Celebrating the Cooperative Program’s Centennial in Missouri,” as part of the Southern Baptist Convention’s year-long tribute to 100 years of funding missions through CP.

Resolutions due 60 days before MBC annual meeting

Resolutions must be submitted in writing to the Committee on Resolutions at least 60 days prior to the first session of the annual meeting. Persons submitting resolutions must certify that they are messengers.

MMO promotional materials coming soon

This month, the Missouri Baptist Convention is mailing packets of promotional materials to church leaders across the state to help them prepare for the 2025 state missions offering. The packets should arrive early in July, giving church leaders ample time to prepare for MMO’s fall promotion and week of prayer, slated for Sept. 7-14.

MBC releases 2024 Generosity Report

This month, MBC-affiliated churches and associational offices are receiving a soft-cover copy of the 2024 Generosity Report. The report highlights the many ways Missouri Baptists invest in missions across our state, throughout North America, and around the world.

MBC names Rob Pochek to lead prayer and evangelism ministries

Missouri Baptist Executive Director Wes Fowler has named Rob Pochek, senior pastor of First Baptist Church on Park Street, Charlottesville, Va., as team leader of Prayer and Evangelism, effective July 1.
