DR sends hand sanitizer to The Baptist Home, associations, churches
JEFFERSON CITY – In a pandemic it is important to wash hands often and use alcohol-based hand sanitizer frequently. The Missouri Baptist Convention Disaster Relief (DR) ministry was the recipient of a shipment of 48 pallets of hand sanitizer from the non-profit organization Global Citizen USA, based in Chicago, Ill. Missouri Baptist Historical Commission to offer scholarships for MBC universities

Disaster Relief training opportunities announced
JEFFERSON CITY – Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief (DR) invites Missouri Baptists to train to participate in disaster call-outs. There will be four training sessions held in different parts of the state to equip future and current volunteers. Former Missourian to lead Texas Baptist Men
HILLSBORO – Former Missourian, David Wells, has been selected as the disaster relief (DR) director for Texas Baptist Men, located in Dallas. Wells moved from Sandy Baptist Church, Hillsboro, last year to be the assistant director for Texas Baptist Men DR. Disaster survivor gives back to DR for helping
LEVASY – When Missouri River floodwaters entered Judy Oetting’s home in June 2019 she wasn’t sure what she would do. When the waters receded she and others started cleaning up the mess. Her basement was flooded as well as the first floor of her home. Mold was growing behind the walls. Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief (DR) volunteers came to her aid. Holt church members share love through snowplow ministry
HOLT – In the winter there is a task to be done when it snows. For some it is not a problem to get out and shovel the snow off of a sidewalk or a driveway. Some have snow removal equipment. Others hire someone to do the job. But for senior adults or those with disabilities, illnesses or single parents it can be a difficulty to deal with. FBC Maysville secretary to retire after 34 years
MAYSVILLE – Martha Spiers is about ready to retire. Maybe. She’s served 34 years as the church secretary for First Baptist Church here. At age 96 she thinks it might be time. She announced her decision but said she will work until a replacement is found. Annual meeting offering supports ministry to refugees in St. Louis
ST. CHARLES – The “Good Neighbor Initiative” of Oasis International Ministries in the Bevo neighborhood of St. Louis, was the recipient of a $2,080 offering by MBC annual meeting messengers on the last day of the convention. Messengers approve Montana mission partnership, Minnesota-Wisconsin partnership to continue
ST. CHARLES – Messengers to the Missouri Baptist Convention annual meeting, Oct. 26-27, approved a new seven-year missions partnership with the Montana Southern Baptist Convention.
