HANNIBAL, Mo. (HLGU) — Hannibal-LaGrange University will welcome nationally recognized speaker, former Green Beret, and former Virginia House of Delegates member Nick Freitas as the featured speaker for its annual Constitution Day program on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 7:00 p.m. in the Roland Fine Arts Center.
The event is part of HLGU’s Free Society Speaker Series, an initiative that encourages thoughtful discussion about the principles of liberty, constitutional government, free markets, and the enduring foundations of a free society. Constitution Day provides an opportunity to reflect on the ideas that have shaped our nation while engaging students and community members in meaningful dialogue through the lens of a biblical worldview.
Before entering public office, Freitas served two combat tours in Iraq with the U.S. Army Special Forces as a Green Beret. He later spent a decade serving in the Virginia House of Delegates, where his speeches on constitutional rights and individual liberty gained national attention and reached millions of viewers online.
Today, Freitas is a nationally recognized commentator and the host of the popular podcast Making the Argument. He speaks across the country on topics including the Constitution, faith, leadership, personal responsibility, and the principles that sustain a free society.
