Missouri Baptists help start Pregnancy Resource Center with aim to restore hope to families

In Poplar Bluff, Mo., a team of people, including leaders from from several Missouri Baptist churches, have come together to start a new PRC.

With few exceptions, Baptists across the colonies, especially those who had experienced persecution, supported the American Revolution. Reasons included persecution, other grievances including taxation without representation, and the tyranny exhibited by the British crown and royal governors. Baptists hoped to gain both political and religious freedom by supporting the war.

Southern Baptists encourage prayer for persecuted church today (June 29)

Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) is honoring Perpetua and all persecuted Christians, June 29, as it recognizes the annual day VOM founded in 2019, spotlighting the martyr in its annual video and providing free digital resources to help Christians recognize those who risk their lives to spread the gospel. Southern Baptists are among many denominations that recognize the observance, encouraged by VOM vice president and spokesperson Todd Nettleton.
