ST. LOUIS (MBU) – Missouri Baptist University is launching a master of public health program, set to roll out Fall 2025. The fully online program will prepare students for careers in the public health profession, including the fields of global health, environmental health, epidemiology, biostatistics and community health.
A master of public health degree provides students with the skills to track the spread of disease and health risks, identify health disparities, promote health access and equality, and evaluate public health policy. MBU’s program will focus on holistic and empathetic care, growing students into both knowledgeable professionals and compassionate advocates for the holistic health of the communities they will serve.
“The new master of public health program at Missouri Baptist University enhances our strong reputation in allied health while introducing new opportunities for service, scholarship and research,” said Dr. Caleb Hamilton, associate dean of the School of Health and Movement Sciences and associate professor of Health and Movement Sciences. “Students will be encouraged to explore their own personal perspectives on health and how these various holistic factors—spiritual, environmental, physical, social, emotional, and socioeconomic—can be integrated into their professional practice as they strive to be empathetic, thorough and culturally humble public health professionals.”
