MBTS fall convocation: Allen addresses joy in life and ministry, installs Donald S. Whitney in endowed chair

Midwestern Seminary inaugurated a new academic year at Fall Convocation on August 27 with a sermon by President Jason Allen. The convocation service featured the signing of the Articles of Faith by two recently elected faculty members, a recognition of new trustees, and the installation of Donald S. Whitney, professor of biblical spirituality, in the John H. Powell Endowed Chair of Pastoral Ministry.

How can we act so normal?

At some point, if we truly believe what we claim to believe, we must ask, “How can we act so normal?” Let me encourage you, and maybe even challenge you, to reflect on your proximity to the lost. Reflect on the ramifications of acting so normal around those who may very well be heading towards eternal death. And as you reflect, let me further encourage you to be abnormal. Let’s do our best to make Jesus known to those who are perishing.

‘Consider Christ’: Missouri Baptist Pastors’ Conference set for Monday, Oct. 28

The Missouri Baptist Pastors’ Conference is set to take place at the St. Charles Convention Center here, Oct. 28. The conference, which precedes the Missouri Baptist Convention’s (MBC) annual meeting, begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 2:20 p.m.

Missouri’s pro-abortion ballot initiative is unconstitutional, lawsuit argues

In a lawsuit filed, Aug. 22, on behalf of state lawmakers and concerned individuals, Thomas More Society attorneys are challenging the inclusion of pro-abortion Amendment 3 on Missouri's ballot, Nov. 5. The filing alleges that the initiative petition was erroneously certified because it runs afoul of the Missouri Constitution and state statutes.
