MBTS’s Chang releases collection of Spurgeon’s unpublished poems

Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MBTS) celebrated last month the release of Christ Our All: Poems for the Christian Pilgrim (B&H Academic). Containing hundreds of Charles Spurgeon’s original poems, many of them previously unpublished, the volume was compiled by Geoffrey Chang, curator of the Spurgeon Library and assistant professor of Church history and historical theology at Midwestern Seminary.

First Baptist Lebanon gives new life to church that founded it in 1891

About three years ago the New Hope Church had declined to the point that there were only a few members meeting for Bible study, and it didn’t seem feasible to keep the church open. But the First Baptist Church of Lebanon has continued to grow, and they have about 900 attenders each Sunday, not including those who watch the services online. So the Director of Missions for the Laclede Baptist Association approached one of the lead pastors of First Baptist Church, Lebanon, with a request to help the New Hope Church. The request was met with open enthusiasm.
