MBF Trustees select college scholarship recipients during video-conference board meeting

The trustees received economic, performance, and financial reports.  Even though the market has been volatile, performance has rebounded since the low at the end of March. In keeping with its current policy, the board maintains its position to distribute all of the net income for endowments.  This is good news for the ministries that count on those endowment funds, especially, when other giving may have decreased.

What is the next stage?

Let’s be perfectly clear: The church never closed and never stopped being the church. In Christ, we are the people of God, the Bride of Christ, with or without a building. Church buildings are the tools we build and use to provide consistent worship spaces and equipping centers. COVID-19 or any of the pandemics of the past – fire, hurricanes, tornadoes, war – do not stop the church being the church.

Pandemic drives National Day of Prayer event to the streets of Eureka

On May 7, there were 65 cars gathered in six lines the Eureka High School parking lot for the prayer drive out-and-about. Plus, each line was led by a Eureka police or fire vehicle sounding an occasional siren to draw attention. Each line covered a particular route in town.
