FBC Troy’s Hayashi named to Human Rights Commission

TROY – There’s another voice promising to bring a biblical perspective to cases that come before the Missouri Commission on Human Rights. Gov. Mike Parson appointed Jonathan Hayashi, music and worship pastor of First Baptist Church, Troy and a Pathway columnist, to the commission, June 17. He was also named the vice chair of the commission.

Member of non-MBC church named to SBC nominating committee

The church was disaffiliated from the Missouri Baptist Convention at the October 2018 annual meeting after giving $0 to the Cooperative Program since 2016. However, MBC records show a $1,200 contribution received June 18, and MBC staffers are working with the church with the goal of re-affiliation.

Southern Baptists affirm stances on sex abuse, racism

BIRMINGHAM (BP) – By overwhelming votes, Southern Baptists strengthened their stances against sexual abuse and racism during the opening day of their June 11-12 SBC annual meeting in Birmingham, Ala.
