Bernadette Hinkle

Bernadette Hinkle, wife of Pathway editor, dies

JEFFERSON CITY – Bernadette Hinkle, 63, passed away July 26, 2016, following a brief illness at Jewish Hospital in her hometown of Louisville, Ky. She was the wife of Pathway Editor Don Hinkle.

A retired registered nurse, she graduated valedictorian of her nursing class from Kentucky State University in Frankfort, Ky., and obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church, Jefferson City.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, Jason Johnson, granddaughter Veronica Johnson; parents Paul and Veronica Guest; sisters Brenda Hawkins all of Louisville, Ky.; and Danni Rivera of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral was in the chapel of Evergreen Funeral Home in Louisville with the Rev. Andrew Pritchett, associate pastor of Victory Memorial Baptist Church in Louisville officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Adam Smith, pastor, First Baptist Church, Shepherdsville, Ky., leading a brief service.

Memorial donations may be made in Bernadette’s name to Mission Dignity: missiondignity.org., a program that provides financial assistance to widows of deceased pastors who are in need.

Friends may visit www.evergreen-louisville.com to share memories about Bernadette’s life with the family.
