Small congregation gives to missions in a big way

Pleasant Hill Baptist Church (PHBC) is a small congregation with a huge mission: reach the world for Christ. “We may not be able to start a cowboy or biker church on our own, but through the Missouri Missions Offering (MMO) we can be involved in those things,” said Kenny McCune, pastor at PHBC, which averages about 40 people on Sunday mornings. “We can touch the world and though we are a small church, we can have a big impact.”

Mountain lion, gospel on menu for First Lowry City

More than 700 men, women and children attended the Sportsman’s Extravaganza & Wild Game Dinner hosted by the First Baptist Church here last month. In order to attract as many sportsmen as possible, the event is not held at the church but instead at Lakeland High School. More than just a wild game dinner, this year’s event featured a music concert and a full-slate of outdoor sportsman activities including outdoor clinics and workshops.
